The CryoHeat HarleyDavidson transmission goes through:
- *100% Teardown inspection.
- *Intensive Cleaning
- *Shaft inspections (Making sure all shafts are straight and true
- *intensive visual inspection on every part, (everything seen that is damaged or has a questionable blemish, it is marked and noted so that when it goes into mag “Magnetic Particle Inspection”, it will not be overlooked.)
Magnetic Particle inspection: Is a non destructive testing of ferrous metal objects. This way we can check if there are any microscopic fractures, blemishes, cracks in gear teeth, or shafts that you can not see with the naked eye. If there are parts that are damaged or have blemishes that compromise the integrity of the part, it will be replaced as an additional charge for replacing said parts.
After the parts go through "mag" they will undergo the CryoHeat process & Micro Polishing.
CryoHeat processing:Our proprietary process changes the molecular structure by stress relieving the entire part. This makes the metal more dense and much stronger without changing the Rockwell hardness, (this process does not make it harder or brittle). The CryoHeat process takes 80 hours and reaches temperatures of -320° degrees Fahrenheit.
Micropolishing:Having surfaces with a roughness average of less than 2RA which is basically as smooth as glass and eliminating unwanted friction and drag. This helps the parts move with the greatest of ease, the Micropolished parts slide back-and-forth on the shafts without any
Before assembly the shafts are re inspected to ensure they are straight and true. Upon assembly during the rebuild a new set of 3rd and 4rth gears including the shifter Dog Ring are installed in to the transmission. Upon rebuilding we will re inspect all procedures to ensure it is being put together and done perfectly. We install shims where they are supposed to be installed unless our CryoHeat brand gears are going into the transmission, which do not require shims. When finished we apply assembly lube, oils, and wrapped in plastic to keep clean.
The standard CryoHeat polished transmission picks up 2 horse power to the ground compared to the stock transmission. Unlike other manufacturers, who make transmission components that can lose up to 5 horse power through the transmission.
